Hi!  My name is Riley. This past December, I turned seven.  My breed has a very long name. I am a ruby colored “Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.”  I am very gentle. Wheeling, West Virginia is where I was rescued.

I am now living in Bethany Beach, Delaware. It’s so exciting being so close to the Atlantic Ocean.  Do you know what my favorite past time is?  I absolutely LOVE scampering along the ocean, chasing waves.  Sometimes, a wave catches me!  That’s a bummer because I don’t like being wet!  Of course, that is contrary to how most spaniels feel. I guess that makes me unique as well as special!

My adoptive parents are very loving and caring. Since I make such a good traveling buddy, my mother and I visit nursing homes, libraries, schools, and summer camps.  It is quite rewarding being a therapy team.  We enjoy seeing the big smiles we bring to the many new friends we meet.  I especially become excited when I enter a library and see the happy boys and girls patiently awaiting his or her turn to read.  It’s super fun because the reader gets to sit on my blanket and cuddle up next to me.  My fur has a velvety texture that makes petting me a natural thing to do. Of course, there are times when someone wants to brush me.  Patiently, I learn to endure all these fun activities because I am racking up the TREATS!  Oh, I almost forgot, I am a very good listener!  I am anxiously looking forward to having YOU read to me soon!!
