During the first day of Volunteer Camp, the inaugural cohort of campers helped out at the George Wilson Center, where they painted a railing outside of the center.
For their second activity of the day, campers at the city of Newark's inaugural Volunteer Camp were able to pet dogs.
The dogs – and their owners – were there for the first day of the camp to introduce the kids to Paws for People. The local nonprofit provides therapeutic visits to those who would benefit from spending time with well-trained pets.
