Wag & PAWSathon Points
Once you register for the event, you choose how to participate throughout the 30-days. You earn points by participating in contests, walks, building a team, raising funds, and celebrating at PAWS events. The points chart below outlines the different activities and you must be registered to earn points. The top three individuals and teams who accumulate the most points over the 30 days will earn prizes and be recognized at the Furry Fall Festival and in PAWS eNewsletter. Prize details coming soon! **Events include Step-off gatherings, dine-to-donate events, pet contest submissions, completing the Walkathon, etc. Registration, fundraising, and Walkathon points calculated automatically. To claim event points, send a photo of yourself at the event or of your receipt for a dine/donate to events@pawsforpeople.org
Wag & PAWSathon T-Shirts: Individuals who raise or donate $150 will receive the 2026 Wag & PAWSathon shirt. Teams and individuals that raise $1,000 or more by October 9th will have their team name added to the t-shirt.
Walkathon
Everyone’s favorite virtual, cumulative marathon returns as part of the 2026 Wag & PAWSathon. The cumulative format allows you to log your 26.2 miles over 30 days and walk anytime, at your own pace – on your own, with a pet, or with friends. You can track your mileage, collect donations, and earn points toward prizes.
Pet Contests
Does your pet have the best trick? Sleep in the whackiest way? “Sing” along with lawn mowers or fire trucks? Get ready to Brag & Bark about it! All registered Wag & PAWSathon participant can submit pet contest entries and any pet is eligible – they do not need to be a PAWS pet. Winners will be selected by the Wag & PAWSathon Committee and entries will be shared on PAWS social media. See the contest details below for details and submission deadlines.

10/8/2026 | Best Trick | Catch, fetch, or twirl – send us a video your pet’s best trick! |
10/13/2026 | Funniest Moment | Pets can get into some pretty funny hijinks. Send us a photo of video of the silly moment, mess, or shenanigans that gave you a chuckle. |
All submissions should be emailed to Events@PAWSforPeople.org and must be received by 5 pm on the submission date. Winners will be posted on the event webpage and PAWS social media. By submitting a contest entry, you give PAWS the right to use your submitted content.
Prizes
The top three individuals and teams that earn the most points will receive fabulous PAWS prizes and recognition at the Furry Fall Festival, in the eNewsletter, and on PAWS social media.
Individual Prizes
1st place: Fabulous PAWSwear bundle with zip up hoodie, Wag & PAWSathon Fundraising Champion water bottle sticker, PAWS tees, and more!
2nd place: 2 tickets to the National Dog Show.
3rd place: Your choice of free registration for the PAWS to Learn Conference (3/6/27) or ticket for PAWS Spring Fling (4/4/27).
Team Prizes
1st place: Gift card bundle – enjoy restaurants, pet gear, Wag & PAWSathon Fundraising Champion water bottle stickers, and more!
2nd place: PAWS goody bag – PAWS lanyards, car magnets, and Wag & PAWSathon Fundraising Champion water bottle stickers for each team member.

Tracking will begin on September 17. You can report miles daily, weekly or as a grand total. To be included in the individual, team and event totals, miles must be submitted by Friday, October 16th at 12:00 noon.
The first 100 people who complete and report their 26.2 miles will receive this year’s event sticker (pictured right) – perfect for your water bottle or laptop cover!

Now every walk you and your dog take can make a difference. During the WAG & Walkathon – and all year long – your walks can translate to donations to PAWS for People.
- Go to wooftrax.com and download the free WoofTrax app.
- Choose PAWS for People-Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services, Inc. as your beneficiary
- Use WoofTrax when you’re going out to take a walk. The more active walkers, the more PAWS can earn!
